Sardinia Italy Travel Guide, Sardinia Italy Tour, Sardinia Italy Travel You must not have heard much about Sardinia and what you heard must be the fabled Costa Smeralda, also known as the Emerald Coast, which derives its name from the color of the water that laps against its white-sand beach. Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean. The Sardin-ians themselves say it's a "continent for itself", a virtual world of its own, full of magic: A beach, gleaming in unreal pink shades, red corals protect against the evil eye and the inhabitants seem to remain forever young. On Sardinia, the owners of luxury yachts adopt sheep, fish have gold in their bellies and a giant mussel supplies the material for legendary sea silk. No one is surprised, that the Madonna goes on a sea cruise once a year.

Are you traveling to Sardinia? Great! It’s the right thing to do – and I promise you will fall in love with it. ⏱⏱⏱ TIME CODES: 00:00 Welcome to Sardinia 01:11 1️⃣ Sardinia is Italy 02:08 2️⃣ But still.. Sardinia is not Italy 02:47 3️⃣ The Local Language in Sardinia is Sardinian 03:26 4️⃣ But some parts of Sardinia speak Catalan 03:51 5️⃣ Sardinia is a large island 04:48 6️⃣ Sardinia is scarcely populated 05:35 7️⃣ There are more sheep than people in Sardinia 08:11 8️⃣ Sardinian Food is delicious 07:28 9️⃣ And so is local Sardinian wine 08:43 🔟 Or beer in Sardinia 09:28 1️⃣1️⃣ Sardinia is one of the very few blue zones on earth 10:13 1️⃣2️⃣ The landscape in Sardinia can vary enormously 10:35 1️⃣3️⃣ Sardinia has some unique wildlife 11:15 1️⃣4️⃣ Sardinian beaches are amazing 11:56 1️⃣5️⃣ Travel to Sardinia is not as expensive as you think 1 - Sardinia is Italy After many dominations, Sardinia became part of the Reign of Piedmont in 1847 and one of the first regions to be part of united Italy in 1861. 2 - But not quite so Most people traveling to Sardinia will say so – and as a Sardinian, I can say this is actually true: despite being part of Italy, Sardinia isn’t quite Italian. In fact, the overall vibe, as well as the landscape is quite different from the rest of Italy. 3 - The local language of Sardinia is Sardinian All people here obviously speak Italian But the local language is Sardinian, which is one of the 12 officially recognized minority languages of Italy, and it is spoken by more than a million people. 4 - But some parts of Sardinia speak Catalan Should you visit Alghero you will soon realize that the local language isn’t Italian, and not even Sardinian. This lovely town is a small Catalan enclave and most locals speak Catalan, in a variety that is actually quite similar to the one spoken in Catalonia. It’s one of the 12 minority languages of Italy. 5 - Sardinia is a large island One thing that cracks me up every time is people who ask me if 3 days are enough to visit Sardinia. 6 - Sardinia is scarcely populated Sardinia has the lowest population density in Italy. We are 1.6 millions in a land that is almost as big as Sicily, which has 5 millions, and Israel, which has 9 millions. 7 - There are more sheep than people in Sardinia Chances are that at some point during your trip, you will end up in a small country road where you’ll encounter a traffic jam (ok, this is an exaggeration) caused by a herd of sheep. 8 - Sardinian Food is delicious One thing you will soon realize when visiting Sardinia is that you will never be hungry. Sardinian food has a focus on the use of local, seasonal ingredients so what you will be eating here is fresh and usually prepared to order. 9 - And so is local Sardinian wine Where there is food, there also is wine, and Sardinia makes some excellent ones. Local grapes include Vermentino and Nurargus for the whites, and Cannonau, Bovale and Carignano del Sulcis for the richest of reds. 10 - Or beer in Sardinia Sardinians love the unfiltered variety. The consumption and production of craft beer is increasing too. The one to try is Pozzo, produced in Guspini 11 - Sardinia is one of the very few blue zones on earth This high life expectancy is due to a combination of factors which include a healthy diet, with a small dinner and a larger lunch; regular exercise (don’t think anything drastic: Sardinians love walking); a glass of red wine; strong family bonds (elderly live at home for as long as possible) and overall happiness 12 - The landscape in Sardinia can vary enormously Travel to Sardinia and you’ll see that there is an incredible variety of landscapes. Sandy beaches and small rocky coves, vast plants and mountains, gorges, forests and even sand dunes in some parts of the island! 13 - Sardinia has some unique wildlife Molentargius Nature Reserve is a nesting area for pink flamingoes and it is not uncommon to see these elegant birds fly over the skies of Cagliari. 14 - Sardinian beaches are amazing I suppose this is the main reason you are traveling to Sardinia, and rest assured you won’t be disappointed. Sardinian beaches are even more beautiful than you can picture them in your wildest dreams. 15 - But there are many more incredible things to do in Sardinia 🇮🇹 Travel to Sardinia is not as expensive as you think The glitz and glamour of Costa Smeralda have little to do with the daily lives of the majority of locals, and if you decide to visit you’ll easily conclude that Sardinia is actually as expensive (and at times quite a bit cheaper) as many other Mediterranean destinations, and cheaper than more famous places to visit in Italy. 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ 🆓 DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION ABOUT TRAVEL TO NORWAY, living in Norway or travel in general? Send me a message, I’ll be happy to help 🤗 Stay in touch! Stay safe! Be happy! #Sardinia #sardiniaitaly #firsttimeinitaly
What to eat in Sardinia Italy - In this video we will show you some of the traditional food of the Gallura area of Sardinia. We will take you to a typical Agriturismo and show you what to eat in Sardinia. Despite of being an island in Sardinia some of the best food is not seafood. In fact Sardinia has a great tradition of cheese making with sheep milk. Also in Sardinia you can taste some delicious pasta and of course an incredible slow roasted suckling pig. Join us for a delicious Sardinian meal. We filmed the video at the Agriturismo San Giovanni near Arzachena. We are two Canadians currently living in Italy. In a city on the Italian island of Sardinia, people have lived longer than in the rest of the world since Roman times. Naturally, Niklas wants to find out what makes this mythical place so special. In this food and lifestyle documentary series, internationally renowned chef Niklas Ekstedt explores the secret of living past the age of 100. He’s travelling to six of the world’s ‘blue zones’ – regions such as Sardinia, Costa Rica, and Okinawa in Japan, where unusually high numbers of people reach an advanced age – in a quest to find the recipe for a long and healthy life. Along the way, he befriends locals and gets to know them, joining in with their daily routines and discussing their approaches to life, food, and ageing. He also reveals different ways of living. For example, in Ikaria, Greece, he discovers a town which keeps the stress levels down by not keeping track of time. And, as you would expect from a leading chef, he also can’t resist sampling some of the local specialties in every place he visits. Tavolara is a beautiful small island off the North East coast of Sardinia. In this Sardinia Boat Trip vlog, we make our way from, Olbia and take an early bus to the small Sardinian fishing village of San Paolo where we take a boat trip to this beatiful island. Did you know that Tavolara is also the smallest Kingdom in the world. Join us on this Tavolara Sardinia Boat Trip and learn about the island, see the crystal clear waters and the world class beaches. Tavolara is a small island off the northeast coast of Sardinia, Italy. The island is a limestone massif 5 kilometres (3 miles) long and 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) wide, with steep cliffs except at its ends. Its highest point, Monte Cannone, is 565 metres (1,854 feet) above sea level. A cove and beach can be found at each end of the island, Spalmatore di Fuori at the northeast, and Spalmatore di Terra at the southwest. Currently, the island is inhabited by only a handful of families, and has a small cemetery and summer restaurant. The water around the island is a popular spot for scuba diving. Most of the population of the island was displaced in 1962 when a NATO radiogoniometric station was constructed on the eastern half of the island. The aerials from the station can be seen from quite a distance, and that entire half of the island is restricted to military personnel. Tavolara is also home of the VLF-transmitter ICV, which works on 20.27 kHz and 20.76 kHz and which is used for transmitting messages to submarines. It can also be received (but not decoded) by PCs with a coil antenna at the soundcard entrance and FFT-analysis software. A natural column of rock on the island's coast resembles a human figure and is known as "the Stone Sentry" or "Pope's Rock." Other stone formations include "Ulysses' Bow" (a natural arch) and the "Grotta del Papa" (a cave accessible by sea and boasting Neolithic cave paintings). As always in our videos, we finish the day off with a sum up and a well deserved drink - but will it be Ichnusa beer, or will it be Vermintino or Cannonau wine? Every time someone asks me “Is Sardinia worth visiting?”, I always come up with the same, blunt answer: yes. Sardinia is worth visiting, all year round and in its every corner. The thing that you should actually be asking me is why is Sardinia worth visiting? In today’s video I’m going to prove you why Sardinia is so much worth visiting! ⏱⏱⏱ TIME CODES: 00:00 Welcome to Sardinia, Italian paradise 🏝 01:30 1️⃣ Unique archeology of Sardinia 02:26 2️⃣ Wild Nature of Sardinia 03:26 3️⃣ Sardinian traditions - real Italy! 04:17 4️⃣ Sardinian Food - one of the tastiest food in Italy you must try 06:15 5️⃣ Sardinia gorgeous beaches - one of the best beaches in the world! 07:40 6️⃣ The people of Sardinia - SARDINIANS 08:51 7️⃣ So, Is Sardinia Worth Visiting? 😉 1️⃣ Unique archeology Sardinia has been a cradle for civilizations since the most ancient times, when most parts of Italy weren’t even inhabited yet. Let’s start from the prehistoric tribes who have left the Giants’ Tombs and Domus de Janas: these people have lived thousands of years before us and were able to build some of the most fascinating megaliths around the world, together with the Nuragic people who lived right after them and resisted – in some inland bits of the island – until the arrival of the Romans. 2️⃣ Sardinia’s wild nature I always say there’s more than just beaches in Sardinia. Venture inland and you will find gorgeous nature, especially in the area of the Barbagia Mountains. If you decide to go all the way there, you will see the purest, most real version of the island you could possibly find. The forests, the rock formations, and the overall environment are something that can only be seen here. Hundreds of indigenous animals live here and, if you are lucky – and respectful of their spaces – enough, you can even spot them: bring some binoculars with you and maybe you will have the privilege to see a deer or boars! 3️⃣ Sardinian traditions Sardinians love their identity and they take great pride in it. They have very strong traditions and are happy to showcase them, especially on the inner bits of the Island. Festivals in Sardinia take place year round, with many concentrated during the fall and winter months and some of the most popular ones – such as Sant’Efisio in Cagliari or the Candelieri of Sassari taking place in the spring and summer. 4️⃣ Sardinian food Should you decide to visit Sardinia, you must come mentally prepared to the fact that you’ll gain a few pounds. There is just too much food to try: from appetizers to desserts, Sardinia really has it all. And don’t even get me started on the wines of Sardinia: Sardinia Cannonau is superb, if only a bit strong, and there are about another dozen of endemic wines and local liquors you should try. Among the numerous Sardinian specialties in terms of food, my recommendations are Malloreddus alla Campidanese and Culurgiones (the first is a type of pasta and the second one a traditional dumpling, and they both have tons of variations – every village has its own recipe); the famous pork and lamb dishes; the many soups served all around the island and the delicious Carasau bread served with typical local pecorino cheese 5️⃣ Sardinia gorgeous beaches – of course! The main reason people visit Sardinia is and will always be the beaches. And honestly, who am I to suggest otherwise? They are stunning! From the long, sandy shores in the Cagliari area to the rocky coves and breathtaking cliffs of the Orosei Gulf, every meter of the Sardinian coasts has something to experience… and, therefore, you always have something to discover. Whether you are the type to spend a relaxing holiday in a top-tier resort or have an adventurous road trip around the island, what you will bring home with you will be the same: the memories of some colors, sceneries, and scents you’ll never experience anywhere else 6️⃣ The people of Sardinia Despite their grumpy appearance and brusque attitude, Sardinians are very warm-hearted people and would do anything for their guests. If you happen to have any trouble while in Sardinia, the locals will probably go the extra mile to help you… and then be shy and embarrassed once you thank them, because that’s just how they are. Guests are still considered sacred in Sardinia: once you’re there, be prepared to have a lot of things offered to you, especially food! It’s very common, for instance, that many guest house and B&B owners will leave you some extra food or snacks around. 7️⃣ So, Is Sardinia Worth Visiting? There are a thousand reasons why Sardinia is worth visiting. There obviously are the many gorgeous beaches. However, I would love it if more people found out about the other beauties of the island 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ 🆓 DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION ABOUT TRAVEL TO NORWAY, living in Norway or travel in general? This is the best boat trip we have ever been on along the Coast of Baunei in Sardinia. We visited the most famous places called Cala Gonone, Cala Luna, cala Mariolu, Cala Goloritze. In my opinion this is all better than the amalfi coast in Italy and the places we saw there for example Positano, Amalfi and Sorrento. Sardinia is a very incredible place to visit and now we had seen almost all of it. We had come from Salerno on a boat and rented a car in Cagliari and drove up to the coast of Baunei. We had also previously visited Amalfi, Positano, Salerno, and Napoli. Get paid 15.000 euro to move to SARDINIA, Italy Did you know that to move to THIS sunny island with turquoise waters you can get paid 15000 euro? THATS TRUE! But what’s the catch? To combat the exodus the government has set aside 45 million euro for the relocation grant Here’s what you need to do to relocate: 1. the city should be with a population less than 3,000 people 2. The money should be used to buy or to renovate the house 3. And finally Recipients MUST live on the new property full time and must register permanent residency in Sardinia. So anyone up to relocate and help the island economy grow? Write plus in a comment, like this video and subscribe my channel for more news! #travel #italy #sardinia #relocate #move
Italy. According to statistics, Italy is in the top three European countries for the number of centenarians, people who lived to the age of 100 years. Sardinia, the island to the west of Apennine peninsula, is ever more often called "the longevity island". ►More Episodes: 🤍 ►All Documentaries: 🤍 ►Subscribe and hit the bell: 🤍

As we walked along the coastline of Sardinia, the smell of fresh bougainvillea permeated the air as though we had entered a secret serene garden. The sun shined down onto the crystal clear cerulean Sea, illuminating the waters and creating a sparkle effect, dancing in unison on the surface. This was not the Italy we knew before. This was an entirely new world to explore. This was Sardinia. Just south of Corsica France, Sardinia’s coast had been beckoning us to visit for years, as though it knew we would fall in love with this Mediterranean island lifetimes before stepping onto it. The northeastern coastline of Sardinia, known as the Costa Smeralda, is notorious as the playground for sailing and the rich & famous. Yachts flood the glamorous town of Porto Cervo in the summer months and create an alternate utopian universe for Europe’s bourgeois to rub shoulders. While the Costa Smeralda may be known as the summer playground for the elite, there is so much more that it offers.
