Wow, this was a REALLY surprising outcome... Vocal Plugin, Reverb Shootout Time! Ever been daunted by how many reverb plugins there are? Struggling to hear the REAL difference between them? If so, this quick-moving shootout is going to be perfect for you.... A lot of the time, looking for the best reverb for vocals is super daunting. There are literally hundreds of options, and every voice is unique so it's easy to be bogged down. While I can't cover every reverb, I picked some REALLY common choices, 3 voices, and ran them back to back. To be as fair as possible, I gain staged each reverb to be as close as possible, and kept it to ~3sec Hall, and a ~1.5sec Plate. I'm shooting out Valhalla Vintage Verb, Slate Digital Verbsuite, Waves R Verb, Soundtoys Little Plate, Fabfilter Pro-R, and Slate Digital Lustrous Plates. Funny enough, I think there were 2 clear winners for 2 voices, and a DIFFERENT combo of winners for the last voice.... Since you need the UAD hardware to run the plugins, I left them out. This is just a list of 5 with a wildcard thrown in of plugins I own and rate as being versatile.
