John Oliver discusses why rent has become increasingly unaffordable, what we can do to combat a system that is stacked against tenants, and, of course, Dakota Johnson’s complex relationship to limes. And do not forget scammers: People who advertise seemingly affordable rental units, only to make you pay a down payment to see it (claiming they are out of tow and coming to show it is very expensive to them) and then ghosting you. I almost got caught in one of those scams, before my husband told me the truth. Yes, here in Germany we have the same issue...
I'm so thankful that my landlords are renting me a place to live in at a reasonable rate . Inflation is uncomfortable but i'm thankful that my job pays for my life.
I weep for America.
I mean I’m no CPA… bit if you have senior in your land …. There is a write off .. but I don’t know… I’m saying before section 8
I gave my renters 30% discount on rent during 2020, and shrugged off late payments, its called compromise. If renters are like Donald Trump or OPEC, then prices keep going up and never down.
Funny, here in Vegas … rents are raised ridiculously .. and now home prices are dropping by a small percentage.. just barely..
I feel like an under talked about issue in America is that so many judges are fucking assholes. Like that judge who sent armed police to evict a woman for showing up in the wrong court room. That judge is an evil bastard and should be in prison.
After getting my second bachelors to finally secure maybe a middle class job, I’m still very poor and live with my parents!! Thanks America !
Rush-hat-guy should meet a guillotine, plain and simple.
Ultra capitalism; Protect the rich, not the poor
I think the Dead Kennedys wrote a song about this
I have been paying 65% of my income as rent since 2001, I am just really polite.
Landlords really are just the last remnant of feudalism. You pay someone a huge portion of your life work and value, simply to have a place to stay while they do the bare minimum to protect you and reap insane rewards. Landlords never suffer financially, but they are morally bankrupt.
Cincinnati/Northern KY here. It's bullshit. Used to be somewhat affordable here. 😡
1/3. One. Third? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I wanna die.
